, city of villains , coh , cov , positron Matt “Positron” Miller, lead designer de “City of”, a pris un peu de son temps afin de répondre aux questions des joueurs concernant le “lissage de la courbe d’XP”, actuellement à l’essai sur le serveur test.
Afin d’en savoir plus à propos de ce changement important qui sera très bientôt implémenté en jeu.
Q : Expliquez-nous exactement ce que vous entendez par “Lissage de la courbe d’XP”.
R : La “courbe” de progression en niveaux ressemblait plus à une figure en dents de scie qu’à une figure lisse. Il y avait certains niveaux dans City of Heroes et City of Villains qui prenaient aux joueurs trop de temps à compléter.
Cela était dû à plusieurs raisons, la plupart en rapport avec la quantité de missions disponibles.
Nous avions essayé d’ajouter du contenu à ces zones dans les épisodes précédents, mais une solution plus radicale était nécessaire concernant le problème de fond.
Nous nous sommes donc attelés à la tâche, et après analyse des données, nous avons déterminé combien de temps un personnage “vit” (existe) à chaque niveau.
Cela nous a permis de repérer rapidement quels étaient les problèmes et d’y remédier. De plus, nous avons augmenté de manière globale l’expérience acquise pour avoir vaincu des ennemis.
Cela aura pour conséquence une progression en niveaux plus rapide que dans les épisodes précédents, et ce pour tout le monde.
Q : Qu’est-ce qui vous a amené à prendre cette décision ?
R : Nos joueurs se plaignaient, et ce de manière légitime, que certains niveaux agissaient comme des “murs” lors de la progression de leurs personnages.
Nous voulions éliminer ces “murs” dès que possible, et avons accéléré la rapidité de progression pour tout le monde dans le même temps.
Q : Cela change-t-il fondamentalement le jeu ?
R : Certainement. Les joueurs verront une progression plus rapide de leur barre d’expérience en jouant autant qu’avant.
De plus, les niveaux auxquels ils étaient “bloqués” devraient passer BEAUCOUP plus rapidement dorénavant.
Q : N’êtes-vous pas inquiets que cela permette aux joueurs de progresser trop rapidement ?
R : Bien entendu, mais nous essayons toujours de rajouter du contenu pour les joueurs de niveau maximum afin qu’ils puissent améliorer leurs personnages.
De plus, le système Ouroboros (Flashback) permet aux joueurs de (re)prendre part à du contenu qu’ils auraient manqué.
Même s’ils ont dépassé la limite de niveau pour une aventure ou un insigne spécifique accordé par une mission, ils peuvent y retourner.
Q : Quand cela sera-t-il publié sur les serveurs de “City of” ?
R : Nous pensons que ce sera publié avant la Saint-Valentin.

R : Je suis vraiment impatient de pouvoir apporter cette amélioration aux joueurs. C’est une importante et très positive étape pour la série “City of”.
